Villa Faidra is a 7bedroom and 6bathroom sleeping up to 14 persons. Sitting above a little cove close to Tersanas on the Akrotiri peninsula in western Crete this attractive seafront villa enjoys amazing sea views across the Cretan sea towards the west.  Its large sleeping capacity makes it an ideal choice for families or groups of friends.

The 180m² villa is built on three levels and has a private pool of approximately 45m² with magnificent views of the blue sea of the Bay of Chania, not to mention the amazing view as the sun sets behind the Rodopos Peninsula to the west.

Sitting on a plot of 1000m² the villa features seven bedrooms and all but one has an en suite bathroom (which have a Jacuzzi bath or Jacuzzi shower), sat TV and air conditioning. The décor is simplistic but stylish. One of the bedrooms is very spacious and has one double bed and two twin beds which can be closed off by an interconnecting door thus making two bedrooms and therefore extremely useful for families. An open plan fully equipped kitchen is situated on the ground floor along with the main living room. A kitchenette is on the lower pool level which is very useful for the preparation of snacks or even a meal perhaps using the outdoor stone built BBQ.

Flowers and shrubs surround the villas as well as a lawn and the pergola covering an outdoor table and chairs lends itself perfectly for al fresco dining.

The main entrance to the house serves the ground level and the upper floor bedroom. The fully equipped kitchen has a dishwasher, coffee machine, refrigerator, hob, oven, microwave, kettle, toaster and utensils. The living room features two sofas, a coffee table, fireplace, TV and a balcony. Two bedrooms on this level each feature a king size bed (can be made into twin beds), en suite bathroom, TV, and a balcony or terrace.

Steps go the upper level that features a bedroom with a double bed, en suite, TV, and a terrace with splendid views.

On the lower pool level there are two entrance doors to the villa. One leads to two bedrooms and the kitchenette. Each bedroom has a king size bed, en suite, and a TV. One bedroom has a balcony/terrace whilst the other has neither a window nor a balcony. The kitchenette has an oven and a coffee machine. The other door serves the interconnecting bedrooms that share an en suite, TV, sofa and armchair as well as a balcony/terrace. One room has twin beds and the other a king size bed which can also be made into twin beds.

Outside the area is perfect for summer outdoor living with the pool, furnished sun terrace, BBQ and dining area in the shade of a pergola, not to mention the stunning views you look out to the sea and the White Mountains.

The small beach of Mahairida is only 1km away, and at a distance of 1.5km is Tersanas, a small seaside village with a lovely sheltered sandy beach and a couple of tavernas. The sandy beach at Kalathas is only 4km drive from the villa, and just 3.5km away is the village of Stavros which enjoys several local amenities including a few tavernas, cafe/bars and a mini-market. Stavros has an excellent sheltered sandy beach and is perfect for children and is well known for its association with the film ‘Zorbas the Greek’ where scenes were filmed at the beach. The village of Kounoupidiana is 8km away where you will find a wider choice of supermarkets, shops, restaurants, a bank, petrol station, bakery, and a chemist.

Chania is a busy town with a cosmopolitan atmosphere. The Venetian harbour is a sight to behold with little fishing boats bobbing up and down on the water on the eastern side while the waterfront on the western side has an abundance of cafes and restaurants ranging from local to chic. Narrow, picturesque and charming streets with a splendid array of shops, boutiques, small cafes and tavernas lead off behind the waterfront. Theotokopoulou St. is one not to be missed with its characteristic Venetian buildings with ornate balconies.  A visit to Chania should be near the top of any list of things to see and do whilst in the area.

The location makes an excellent starting point for exploring beautiful western Crete whether you are interested in sightseeing, archaeology, walking, horse riding or simply relaxing and enjoying some of the wonderful beaches in the area.
